1966 GM SAN ANTONIO  TRANSIT BUS

For over 50 years this 1966 GM VIA Bus has been cruising the street of San Antonio Texas.   The bus runs and drives very well.

Its powered by a 6-71 Supercharged Detroit Diesel with a Allison V-Drive automatic transmission.   With the exception of the exterior paint scheme the bus is complete original.

It maintains all its original seating which is rare, and starts every time almost instantly.   The bus just made a 20 mile trip with no troubles at all.   The air brakes work well as does its emergency brake.   I took the bus up to nearly 50mph but didn’t want to push my luck with the tires.   I see some cracking in the tire side walls.   I can get the tires brand new at a cost of $225 plus installation.
